Southeast facing houses should be designed with a careful arrangement as a fire element is dominant in this zone. South-East Corner plots have two roads on the south side and the east side of the plot. The meaning is these buildings have a road in the south direction as well a road in the east when looked from their entrance or inside the building. These following suggestions are the same for houses that have the south and east side roads and even shops and offices that have roads on the south and east sides.
To determine whether your building is on a South -East Corner plot, it is better to refer a good compass and determine the exact degrees. Or you can judge the rays of the Sun and the shadow of nearby buildings in the morning time when the Sun rises in the east. The Sunlight will fall on the right-hand side of your building when you enter it if it is the southeast facing plot. And there will be two roads on your front and right-hand sides.
Vastu Effects
The effects of the south-east corner plots fall on females and second-generation children living in the house. The plot which has roads on south and east on two sides is called the south-east corner plot. This is considered the most non auspicious of all plots. This type of plot never helps in improving the lifestyle and the people living in these plots suffer every time with troubles due to financial and health problems.
This plot is very dangerous as its effects are bad and instant. Immediately on buying this type of plot, the buyer or his wife becomes sick which takes a lot of time for diagnosing and curing. Very care has to be taken while constructing the building, taking due consultation from a Vastu Consultant. If the house is built as per Vasthu Shastra, it will reduce the bad effects.
Southeast corner plots are very good for Hotels, tea shops, and businesses, and Industries which are related to Fire and Electricity. Very famous and popular Restaurants are built in the southeast corner plots.
Vastu Tips
There are best Vastu remedies available for getting good benefits from a southeast corner plot and they have to be followed with the consultations of a Vastu expert. The South-East corner has to be built with a separate building like a shop, garage, small temple, E.B meter room, boiler room, separate toilet…etc.
- Trees like the Coconut tree, Neem tree, etc., can be planted in the south-east corner of the plot.
- The compound wall of the south-east corner can be curved to reduce bad effects.
- The main door has to be in the south of south-east corner or east of north-east corner only.
- The kitchen must be in the south-east corner.
- Septic tank, well and sump should not be in the south-east corner.
- The more open area is to be left on the east and north sides.
- The north-east corner of the house should not extend beyond the south-east corner.
- Any type of construction like security room, E.B room, garage Etc… shall not be built on the northeast corner of the plot.
- Big trees or heavy flower pots not to be kept in the north-east corner of the plot.
- While digging well, sump – due care to be taken not to affect the corner.
- Portico, Car Park should not be built extending the north-east corner of the house.
- If wastewater, rainwater and drainage are passed out from the north-east direction, the children will prosper in studies and profession.
- If a road is present just opposite north or east of the north-east corner of the plot it will add good effects.
- If a road is present just opposite south of the south-east corner of the plot it will add good effects.
Following are a few important rules of VAASTU Shastra for property facing Southeast.
External Vastu arrangements
- Southeast facing House / Home / Plots are considered a medium type of plot where the occupant has an average success in his/her life. Success comes in little by little.
- South-east facing plot or house should have a lower compound wall boundary towards the east (half ) and higher boundary towards the south (another half). The height, as well as the width of the boundary, should be based on the size of the plot.
- The main gate (compound gate) should be placed in the auspicious zone on the south-east boundary wall. Ideally, it is advisable to make an internal lane on the north-east boundary wall. This will reduce the size of the plot but will help in making a door in a positive direction.
- Slope the plot should be towards the northeast direction of the plot. Plot having a slope towards the north-east proved beneficial to the owner of the plot or home.
South East Facing Apartment
- Entrance facing south-east while buying an apartment or flat should have all internal elements to be as per Vastu.
- The kitchen should have maximum windows towards the north-east and north-west directions.
- Master Bedroom in South-West, Prayer area in North East, Kitchen in Northwest and living area in Eastern zone will give south-east facing home with a “B+” rating.
- Avoid a lift or staircase going down in front of the main entrance.
Boundary
- Make a lower boundary wall at the northeast side of the plot. The lower boundary at northeast will help in attracting a positive flow of cosmic rays from Ishanya corner.
- The boundary at the south-west line should be the highest in the south-east facing plot. The height & size of the boundary wall should be rather based on the size of the house or plot facing south-east.
Open Space & Slope
- Leave more open space in the north-east zone of the plot while making a construction. More open space in the northeast assures abundance & success in life.
- Leave equal space on the south-east and north-west directions of the plot while making a construction.
- Avoid slope either towards the east or south-east or south of south-east of the plot or home as this will create a “major Vastu fault”.
- Avoid any projection in the plot. Plot having projection or extension at south-east could lead to legal problems, female health issues, financial losses or accident (Except Northeast to the extent of 10%)
Surrounding & Corrections
- Avoid plot with T junction from any side. T junction plot or home is highly inauspicious and need strong Vastu remedies if selected, use Vastu partitions, crystal boundary & Vastu bricks to rectify the defect. Also avoid plot with veedhi schools (road ending) at the east of south-east, north or north-west, south-of south-west and west of south-west.
- Correct south-east zone by installing fire element pyramid (Vastu element-fire), fire element pebbles & Vastu Partition strips (Vastu element-fire) on the south-east border. Some people use copper wire remedy, but Vastu partition strips are found to be more effective.
- Make an underground water tank or bore well at the northeast zone of the plot to improve the cosmic vibrations. Water in the northeast brings a better quality of life for all. The water tank should be in proportionate to the construction area.
- Plot with bore well or underground tanks at south-east or south-west is a serious Vastu defects. This defect will cause a delay in construction work if you are making a new home.
- Avoid a septic tank for the toilet in the south-east, south-west and, also north-east zone of the plot. Its a major defect as per Vastu Shastra.
- Finally, make sure that Vastu plan for internal & external arrangement is made according to the Vastu guidelines before starting construction.
