Today I want to let you know about the broken headline. Not everyone has the perfectly formed regular lines on the hand, and sometimes it is broken or an unusual shape. The usual line is a crease that commences from the radial edge (thumb side) and travels at least halfway across the palm. Ideally, it is slightly curved and free from islands, marks, and variations.
This line is one of the most significant on the palm because it reveals a great deal about the essence of you. It gives clues as to how you think and manage (mentally). It can show whether you are struggling or sailing along smoothly and how you make decisions.
If it happens to have a break or more than one break in the line, it shows disruption to the flow of thought. The main issue with the interrupted line is that it can produce a lack of concentration or an inferior memory. Sometimes it’s a sign of poor self-control. The person might have times in their life when they are indecisive. If the break overlaps the second part of the line, it can be a time of change, especially mentally. It’s important to check the other lines and marks for clues.
The energy of the lines
Imagine the lines as energy, and if the power supply is disrupted, the energy needs to come from somewhere else. The perfect example is the hand in the image below. The headline is practically missing altogether. The poorly formed line that is there is broken severely. I had many conversations with the owner and learned that she is quite passionate and set in her ways. She has strong opinions and is surprisingly cold-hearted considering her mental energy runs mainly through the heart line.
Overlapping lines
The broken line that overlaps the second part of the line can be a sign of mental exhaustion, inconsistent thinking, or a transformation in life attitude (mental outlook). If in the middle of the line, the timing would correspond with going through a mid-life crisis.
If the break is clean with no overlap, it can suggest an actual injury to the head or illness; but there will be evidence elsewhere such as the fate line, lifeline, or other indicators. If there are islands on the other lines, it is rarely an encouraging sign to see. However, and island on the head line is more often than not, merely a sign of defective memory.
If the line breaks repeatedly, it shows a lack of stability in the mind. The person might be unpredictable, erratic, or suffer constant headaches, poor health, or nervousness. If with pointed fingertips, they are unreliable and impractical, especially if the headline reaches down to the Mount of Moon.
With each break, see whether it is amended by sister lines or by overlapping ends. Also, see if there’s any connecting branches, squares, or any other line bringing them together. If so, they kind of heal the line making it less severe. Take note of the condition of the line (thin, thick, stars, dots, or islands) after the break to see if the possible problem has or will be overcome. Also, where the end of the break reaches (like to amount) can give more clues.

A BROKEN HEADLINE THAT TOUCHES OR LINKS TO THE HEART LINE
If the heart line is darker than the headline, and another line rises and merges into the heart line (or a branch from the line links to the heart line), it shows that passion or sentiment rules over rational thoughts. These people prefer to make their decisions based on what they feel, not what they think. An emphasized heart line can be impulsiveness which may lead to mental exhaustion.
In the image below, the break is at the start, depicting some changes or problems at an early age. It might be related to family or early school years. The attached life line to the head line shows some insecurity related to family. The end of the headline reaches towards the heart line which is not complete. It almost looks like a broken Simian line.
Island on the headline
Sometimes the break rejoins, forming what looks like a broken island. It shows a weakening of the line, and it affects the mental ability. It can be a sign of worry, uncertainty, illness, depression, loss of memory or merely a period of fatigue that alters the ability to think clearly. Someone who suffers from migraines might also have this mark. Look at the quality of the line after the island. Once the line resumes to normal, so should the issues.
